Motels
Motels, or hotels for motorists, sprang in the 1920s first along highways in the US and later around the world. To this date they offer cheap roadside accommodation to riders and travellers.
Although it offers only basic amenities, with rooms typically facing a car-park, a motel is convenient if you want to split a long-distance road journey. Some motels offer B&B, and most will have TV and shower.
