Checking out local physiotherapy, coronary or plastic surgery options? You will find that state-run and private hospitals providing these are scattered across the country.  

All regional centres have at least one hospital that offers a full range of medical services. Other hospitals are specialised, for instance in children’s health, OB/GYN, endocrinology, ophthalmology or orthopaedic diseases. Hospitals provide inpatient and outpatient care, monitoring and day programmes.

Dial 150 in case of emergency. Ambulances will normally take a lot to arrive. Sofia’s emergency hospital is Pirogov. If in the country, head to the nearest hospital.
